I’m not trying to be a hater but I’ve never been a fan of the “Brap Strap”. The concept never made to much sense to me, the strap holds your hood down super tight but how does it keep your hood from shifting sideways? The hood shifting sideways and breaking the seal to let water in was always my main concern. I needed something West Coast surf solid so I went a different route. I glassed rails around my engine compartment lip. I use two rubber bungees for hood straps that pull in opposing directions. Rubber bungees are cheap and easy to hook up, not like some pain in the a$$ ratchet system. I still have the stock hood latch but it pretty much does nothing and is unlatched half of the time. Since I went to this system I have never lost or had my hood shift, even after landing sideways or pitching my ski in the biggest surf
