Foot Strapped Surf Riders, where do you put your strap(s)?????

I stand both feet at the rear when jumping- keep in mind I am a novice at this- should my straps be regular footed? I see a lot of people using that stance when surf riding, hence the straps pictured are one forward and one back (or foothold in back). Does anyone set up theirs with two in the back (no footholds)? I am going with only straps right now- no footholds.
Just wondering if my technique is wrong- I feel very comfortable standing and jumping with both in the back....I only stagger when I am turning/carving. Should I switch positions if I start doing rolls or other tricks?

Just my 2 cents - I don't use straps on my ski. But I've ridden a lot of other good riders skis such as Ross Champion, Mike Serlin, Matt Smith, etc, and the one thing I noticed is that every body sets up there skis differently because they all ride differently. Best set up for you would be to put your straps were you put your feet when you ride. If you’re not sure were you put your feet then try this, get a white grease pencil and stuff it up your wetsuit sleeve on your next ride. Then go for a ride and forget about your foot placement. If you’re not thinking about it, your feet will automatically end up at your natural stance. At sometime during your ride, when you remember, steer out of the waves into smooth water (with out moving your feet from your surf stance) and trace the outline of your feet placement right on your Hydro Turf. Then just go home and mount your straps to your outlines. Be sure and mount them to your toes like Taylor said so your can get out quick if you need to. The grease pencil will scrub off with soap and water or just fade quickly. I did this same method for straps on a tow surfboard set up and got it right the first time.

surf stance is 10x more functional and stylish...

who's goes through wake zones on their knees? I know I don't. Thats about the extent of my skills... hehe

funny thing, we dont even really ahve any no wake zones around here to worry about....

but I do like to kneel on my ski to take a rest and sometimes even ride in on my knees if its been a long session.......

im thinking it probably wont be an issue..that rear strap woudl be just forward enough to where it woudnt be an issue.....:dunno:

they dont get in your way while kneeling...the squish flat anyways...dont waste your time with footwells..once you try dual straps you wont miss them
