X metal - sweet ass profile, strong as piss, pretty light, Pats a good guy
XFT - sweet ass profile, light as piss, bling bling Carbon
WDK - Looks great, sunfading as Rat said, More expensive than XMetal or XFT

look at how the black metal sticks out from underneath the pad

it makes it look like someone retrofitted a square chinpad on it :afro:

here are some SEXY chinpads :purr:

is the sunfading that happened to the WDK pole a property of the resin, or the carbon itself?

Dont order in Carbon Fiber and you wont have that issue, order in prepreg painted. :ugh2:

If you would have cleared the carbon in an auto clear it would have held up longer. Carbon will do this if not protected.

good to know....maybe that'd explain why the carbon in my fx1 turns white every time I ride it in fresh water...than couple oof days later it goes back to normal

First off, I should have not had to do anything for a 1k handlepole. The pole shold come to me ready, 100% complete with all the little bugs worked out of it. It was an issue with the resin that he used. It is a quick fix, I just have to paint the pole skin. I talked to him about it a few weeks ago and I don't think he is doing visual carbon skins anymore...............too much of a hastle, .5lbs heavier and not as ridgid as the prepreg skin.

In my opinion painting carbon is a no no. Like Rat said, the pole should have come protected or cleared. I know the sun can fawk stuff up bad, but with a good automotive clear there is no way that should have happened.

Rat - I'm sure you can save that somehow. Unless its the carbon that has tarnished. I think its the resin, though. Maybe a wetsand and autoclear?

Carbon does not go white in the sun, usually the epoxy yellows slightly in time because epoxy is not UV stable. Epoxy is however hydroscopic as it is curing or if it is slightly under-cured, this is more common than you think as many laminating epoxys and all pre preg requires oven cure.
What happens is the epoxy takes on a milky/cloudy finish when it comes in contact with water.
I'm not pointing the finger, just giving a possible cause
Take a look at this and see what you think http://www.queenford.8m.com/atp_prepregbillet_pole.html

^^^^^Looks like one fancy stock handle pole  Its beautiful, but I prefer the slimmer profile that the X-metal offers.... I wish you guys (ATP) were based in the USA... I would have lots of your parts... I realy like the single manifold, as well as your scupper.

So whats the general consensus? I need to order a pole and I want to keep running my WDK chinpad which as far as I know fits only stock or AC.

I think I'm about to order a polished AC.
