id get a turf kit, worx intake, concorde impeller and FOOTHOLDS while youre returfing. you will NOT regret putting them in. in fact, youll regret not putting them in before returfing if you ever ride a ski w/ holds. the stock rideplate is good and id stay away from the pump stuffer.

yes, if theres too much grease in the short shaft, or on the end of the driveshaft, itll "hydrolock" when all the air is squeezed out.

if you let the ski idle in the water for, say, 5 seconds then nail the throttle, what does it do? is it progressively worse after 10 seconds? 20 seconds?

most of the time, the starter needs to be disassembled, cleaned and put back together and youll usually get some more use out of it. how much use depends on the wear on the parts and how well you seal it back up when you reasassemble it. you can try your other starter by hooking a battery...

i wouldnt. id take off the other 2 to make sure theres no water in there. if youre still running the stock arrestor, you can use one of the 4 adpator plate bolts under the plastic housing if need be. just buy the bolt! :)
