i think he responded the way he did because he took your post as saying that grif wasnt getting help on here, so PM someone who knows what theyre doing.
i assume that what you were trying to say was to bring the ski to someone that knows what theyre doing.... not just 'talk' with someone who...
thats what i thought at first too. but look at the 3rd pic. it looks straight. im thinking that the 5th pic looks bent because it partially under water. (?) :dunno:
i dont 'know' that you have a bent rod. i do know that there was water in your cylinder. i think its a safe bet that you have a bent rod though.
take the cylinders off and youll find your problem. if you have to remove the carbs, no biggie. youll want to remove them anyway before reassembly...
you will be able to see where in the 'raised "ovular" area' the bolts sets in. crab, if you have a clean one, please do.... the stator in my shop is a bit rusty
ok, no pic..... but the scribe is on the upper slot.... like where the upper stator mounting bolt is. if you look at the boos on the case, where the stator bolts to, youll see that its kind of 'arrow' shaped. that arrow points to where the scribe 'should' be.
do you have a scribe near that slot?
i dont see the harm in taking the engine out and apart if theres a problem with it. hes saving the labor cost of someone else doing the job and hes learing a thing or 2. we wont tell him how to disassemble the crank. ;)
hmm.... well 'normally' theres a scribe mark at 9 o'clock on the stator that lines up with the case halves. ill try to get a pic of one of my k650 stators that have the mark.
did we forget to mention to him that he should cut the throttle cable before taking the engine out? oh well. he seems like a bright lad. he'll figure it out.
its too bright. its too close. its not directly in front of the snout of the crank. the camera isnt being held level.
right those wrongs with a new pic and get back to us.
seriously.
