why not just let him blow the cash? he will spend all this money (who even knows if its his money?) and wind up with something that still needs tuning, then he will spend even more money on a different engine. he could very well be pauls next best customer! if he's not going to listen to people...
so the intermediate shaft wont seperate from the driveshaft? as in, theyre seemingly permanently joined at the splines?
ive never had that problem before, but it sounds like the splines are boogered up from the 'impact'.
i would bolt the pump back up and work on getting the intermediate off of...
the difference is in both the hull and mechanical.
the hull is much more slippery on the water and condusive to freestyle. that matched with the awesome engineering of yamaha motors and the larger pump diameter allows for a much more versatile ski for freestyle.
