pull up on the little lever dealio on the other side (touching your fingers in the pic), and release the connectors from eachother.
use a paper clip to bridge the two contacts together on the two wires that are going into the box (as opposed to the start switch)
next time, if all you hear is "click" with a 'jolt' that you can feel, it means your engine has water in it. dont try to hit start w/o taking the sparkplugs out and grounding them. just ask grifnasty.
not discrediting. just posting what i have found in the past. i still have an analog meter and this is the only thing it ever gets used for. everything else in life gets the digital UEI multi.
18 feet should be easy if you jump in with a big rock in one hand and a rope with something on the end to 'quickly' hook onto the bow eye.

usually digital meters will go ape shyt when you try to read the voltage on the battery of a running engine due to the untrue dc current coming out of the rectifier. its a 'pulsating' dc current and a digital meter doesnt know what to make of it so itll constanly read a bunch of different...

grif, are you SURE its stripped??? in the vid you posted, i saw the prop going up and down on the driveshaft as if it was climbing and 'unclimbing' the threads of the shaft. it wouldnt spin that easy if it were stripped.

if its buzzing, it means theres not enough voltage going to the electomagnetic coil in the starter relay to put the armature down.
low voltage could be from either a low battery or a faulty connection.
its more like a 0.01% chance its a bad solenoid in my opinion.
jesse, seriously... call paul at exotic. he is a kickass artist and can custom make you whatever you want. a custom design is pricey, but having him work on an existing design isnt. he did the 2 boats that you said you liked that you posted examples of. if anyone could design you some kickass...
