you can take the hose off the stinger while the ski is idleing on the trailer on a boat ramp and bump the throttle to see at what rpm its opening. i dont see a problem with it not being opened at low RPMs with a wet pipe.... ive never had a problem and we have 3 boats that are using them.

overheating happens when youre riding. if your engine overheats while riding and the tee melts, the fumes will choke out your engine and you will stall.... then sink from the water rushing in.

PVC is fine if there are no problems. unfortunately, sometimes these machines have problems. overheating your ski sucks. sinking it because it overheated would be plain ridiculous.
