I'm not sure which brand of spring I have, but having a carbon chinpad with the spring has really helped. The pole stays up about 8 inches from bottmed out resting position of the handlepole away from the hood. I don't think the stocker pad would let it stay up so high.

Did your buddy tune the ski I got from you? B/C if he did I can vouce, the tunning he did on my ski is perfect. No flat spots and plugs come out looking nice.
The decals on a 96 SJ i tried to remove were practically impossible. I only got the decal off the top of the handlepole and stopped. The kawasaki graphics I removed from my 800 were a piece of cake compared to that one decal on top of the handlepole of the SJ.
