That "FAQ" section on this forum has every thing you could ever need. Just about every mod is listed and detailed.
Just about any place can get the seal so chose who you like to deal with.
Doesn't cost much at all.
The prop, or what you describe as acid burn is cavitation.
That stocker is toast and should never go back into any ski.
Other than doing the hood mod and installing a scupper there is one more thing that you could do.
Now that you know how to do fountains, STOP.
Time to move onto different tricks.
BTW, I bet once you seal up the hood you will be able to fountain all day.
If the 97 RN is the one that I know than you forgot a few mods on top of the ones listed.
Footholds,
new turf,
shortened and reinforced stock pole,
UMI steering and straight bars,
bilge pump.
or did you find another 97 in the area ??
I'm not a fan of that solution.
Prefer to keep the plugs at all costs.
Next time a switch goes bad you can unplug it, start the ski using your friends switch (beach the skis side by side and the wires will be long enough)and ride back to the boat ramp saving a long a$$ tow in.
Before you replace anything, check the wires.
Look really close by the plug as they like to break right there.
Also, look inside the plug for corrosion.
One wise man on here once told me to start with the simple stuff.
Disconnect the "STOP" switch at the plug by the electrical box and try again.
If it starts and runs, plug it back in and it should shut off.
If that's the case than it's either the stop switch or the wiring for it.
