Characteristic-wise it would depend on which one it was. But, that block is the other portion of the fuel pump.. So it can easily cause way rich or way lean conditions.

I'd use a new rubber plug thing too....I think I have some and the clear disks too. Lemme know if I need to dig them out.

I see you've been to those levels of frustration as well. That ball end allen key crap seldomly works too. I think I still have this little hoo-hah from a hobby store that worked excellent, a burnisher maybe what its called.

Seriously, those check valves can be a pain to install. Its almost not worth replacing them during a rebuild if nothing is wrong with them.

Um, sorry but you could get a sharkfab head (minus domes) that is fully girdled for less than that. Plus, I"m not looking to buy a new head but thanks!

Use some ingenuity, or buy that stuff from the link you posted twice. I'm assuming you saw the compression union only stuff at the bottom? IF I used that I would use freon that had UV dye in it to check for leaks VERY well.
