Engine trouble

I had a very similar prob with my fx1. Check your carb internals. Mine would start but would die when throttle was applied. On the fuel pump side of the carb I had one of the small clear diaphrams ripped. Check your jets as well. Could be water/trash in tank, filter, or lines. Make sure compression is good and you have fuel in tank.

the gas from the mobil across the street from the makai was absolute garbage...methanol...may want to dump the tank and run fresh gas through

if you are gonna open up the carbs at all, replace all internals and start fresh. no point having to open up again down the road to replace a worn oneway, screen or n/s. just my $0.02

Always just this close
If it was running great one day and not the next, I had a similar situation. I found something (or someone) somehow partially pulled a fuel line of a connection point, I would check all your fuel lines, you may be sucking air.

Guys as Idok said, your carbs dont just go bad overnight. If it was sitting for a year not running, then he tried firing it and it ran like crap then yea I would pull carbs apart.

Its going to be something more simple then rebuilding the carbs.

its the screen! (or a clogged in line fuel filter!)

he said it idles....i'd bet if you goose the throttle it either dies, or "burps"

i'd also bet he could get the rpms' up if the throttle is feathered a bit.....

FWIW...I have ridden superjets now about 5-6 years and have NEVER had to rebuild a carb..clean them out, yes...rebuild, never.

I have a question, what causes the small clear diaphrams to rip or crinkle? The guy I bought my ski from said he had the carb rebuilt b4 I bought it. When I took it out it wouldnt rev out, it would kinda idle. That 1 small clear diaphram is all I could find, my filters are fine. Whats ripping it? I havent run it since so I dont know if its fixed yet.

1 diaphragm?

in the fuel pump - there should be 2. (and yes - they are a pain to install) Not only do you have to make sure not to punch a hole in the rubber doodad, you have to make sure they are installed the right-way "up"

on the back of the metering plate - there is a small oval one.
