Not disagreeing with jfw but what is so hard about drilling a hole, counterboring it, tapping it, and installing the insert?????? Hardest part is trying to keep it square, and there are tools for that too.
Just did my manifold with Timeserts. Part of the installation process is counterboring the holes (comes with bit). It is simple to do and seems super strong. Only way to go IMO.
Also, they sell big-serts to be used for other attempted insert repair that did not hold.
