One more option, I saw on the 300SX FACEBOOK page a few guys were putting in 550 pumps with aluminum brackets that bolted to the stock bearing box location, no bodywork needed but I do think they had to have the driveshafts shortened , any pump is better than a 440 pump , trust me on this one...

I ran across this today when I was looking for a handlepole spring for my SN, I have no need of it so I am putting it up for sale, its basically like new condition asking $40.00 shipped CONUS.

I found a couple of rear pole covers for the 300SX , it looks like it will work perfect if I cut a few new holes for wires and cables to run , the steering cable can run through it just as it is., OI will also need to add a metal bracket behind where the spring rides on the pole for support...

I am fairly convinced that the biggest change on my freestyle 300SX came not from the engine swap but from swapping in the 650 pump, I wish I had tried it with the 550 reed engine and 650 pump it would have been interesting., the 440 pump sucks a$$.

This is going to sound a little weird but it might work, buy a cheapo mini tubing cutter , dull the blade down with a file then use it to put a slight crimp on the cable housing.
