I'm not certain, but it seems that there is some wiggle room when just using bolts, where as the dowel pins allow the location of the cover to be installed with a higher degree of accuracy. :dunno:

I had the same problem when I first got my aftermarket hood. I had to ensure that the back of the hood (near hood latch) would not fold down the hood seal. After a while it just stopped being a problem.

You all need to learn how to turf properly and not have to use any caulking for the seams and edges... I'm ashamed of all of you... hehe j/k

I'm going 2.5 years on a JSS coil, and no trouble... bluegtate is going on atleast 1 year on his JSS coil, and on trouble either... 100% salt water ridden.

I sent my whole electrical system out to JSS over 2.5 years ago. I ride 100% surf. My stuff is still rock solid. About every six months I do have to take the green button of the S/S switch apart to clean the contacts. The contacts in the green switch were never a problem prior to having JSS...
