the white that youre seeing is polyester fairing filler. its not directly on the foam. after shaping the foam, i layed down some thin mat to 'solidify' the top of the foam. on top of that mat is the fairing filler..... in the pics... its the first application. i will sand the high spots and fill...
its not that 'tailstands' are important.
whats important is being able to get out of the hole on a deep back landing WITHOUT CAVITATING. running only the stock SJ exhaust tube does NOT allow this to happen.
so, maybe you like water sloshing around your engine for a minute or 2 while it gets pumped out. i prefer mine to be gone in seconds. i have riding to do.
