Anyone had there skis sink ?

I sunk my SJ, about 2.5 miles from my dock, and about .5 miles from shore. Luckily, my friend was riding with me, and he was on a couch- getting towed back to the shore wasn't a problem. I had a fountain just like in that Tahiti video.

300/440/550 Need help adjusting carb on '85 JS550, please help.

Here is a pic I took today showing my flush kit connection, and the water hose that you need to have connected to your pipe. Mine is a stock ski, but I think you can still see where everything should go. My understanding is that my flush kit was installed by the dealership.

Seriously, you don't know where that image comes from? That dudes been busted time after time for huffing spray paint. Apparently, certain colors have more kick than others, with gold spray paint being the most potent high. There's something beautiful about the mugshot you picked for your...

300/440/550 Need help adjusting carb on '85 JS550, please help.

Yeah, ok, I'm talking about about where the exhaust is spitting out of your head pipe. I've annotated a screenshot for you below. Good luck!

Right, now I see. You don't have a flush kit installed, you just unplugged the cooling line from your exhaust head pipe and ran it to a garden hose.

I'm no professional, but it looks like you're leaking exhaust from your pipe. You probably need to connect a cooling line there, unless you have a tunable pipe that is missing a screw or something. I know someone with more experience can give you a definitive answer, but that could be causing...

    300/440/550 Pumice Stone Air Filter

So, couldn't I just tune the screws to compensate for removing the stone (if I decide to do so), or would I need to rejet the carb?

That's awesome. I wonder how many functional skis you could Frankenstein together from all that inventory. That would be a thread I'd definitely be happy to read.

    300/440/550 Pumice Stone Air Filter

    1. It says 550 in the back, but you're right about the graphics being pretty similar. 2. It seems really brittle, but it isn't crumbling. 3. You're right, that detail was unnecessary and unintentionally offensive. Removed. Thanks!

    300/440/550 Pumice Stone Air Filter

So, I have a cherry JS 550 that I bought off a nice lady ten years ago. It runs again, and I'm wondering if I can just throw its pumice stone air filter away- what does it really do? Anything?

    Other Superjet steering issue

You might want to check to make sure your steering is aligned properly. They SJ FX-1 shop manual that you can download from one of the threads on this site explains how to align your steering.

Freestyle Quickstyle motorsports vengeance hull review

Right? In my head, I picture the back story of that paint job to read something like this: Steelers Starting Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to Eric Malone- Hey Eric, I got this girl on the side and I want to buy her like, you know, the most baddest Jet Ski on the planet earth. She wants it to...

Other What skis for full drivetrain swap?

I feel like this tread might be getting off topic with the debate between tuned vs stock reliability. As SJ 650 owner, I'm interested in knowing the answers to the original question- which motors are the easiest to swap into a SJ, and which ones are most challenging. Blasters seem pretty hard...

Super Jet 93 superjet wont start

That right there is solid advice, I unplugged mine and my SJ fire right up. Instead of replacing my s/s switch, I just took it apart and fixed it. I think the kill switch can get stuck if it sits too long without a key in it.

    650/X-2 Out of options..

My SJ wouldn't start once because the button inside the kill switch was stuck. I opened up the little housing that has the start, stop, and kill switches, wiggled it around, and it started easily. Good luck.

Super Jet SuperJet ride plate recommendations

So, I'm interested in getting a new ride plate- mine's stock right now. I'm 6'5" 210lbs, and I'm looking for a plate for my SJ 650. I have the shorter Jet Dynamics plate on my 03 SJ, but I'm wondering if there isn't something better. The 03 seems to get unhooked pretty easily on high speed...
