I said goodbye to my favorite ski ever and am jumping back into this build. Planning on a relatively low budget build but after coming off of a really nice ski, there are some compromises I just don't want to make so progress might be a bit slow as I buy the parts I need as I have the cash...

Your setup wake is lacking. You want to be making more of a J and hitting it and the convergence of the two wakes, you are making a lazy angle and getting very little amplitude out of it. *sorry I only got a few attempts in before posting, the setup wake got progressively better

To follow up on this thread, I found out this weekend how much having my dream ski really meant to me. I very much enjoyed riding the backie chan this year, but really I enjoyed spending the entire season on the lake, no wrenching, just gas and go. My riding skills didn't really progress any...

I've got to say, I have owned two Waterdawg hulls (purchased second hand) and both had amazing fit and finish. Even as far back as 2005 his attention to detail was far ahead of what most builders are selling now.

If that wasn't taken with a potato it would be a really cool pic.

Being that the billet cases have to match up to the already designed transfer ports on the cylinder and work with the already determined cylinder spacing, there is not much they could have possibly done to make the billet cases flow better than OEM cases. Like jo5hi3 said, the benefit is...

For the most part the ski sits up close enough to the back of the truck that it doesn't really take any road debris (at least not as much as if it was on a trailer). Mudflaps on your truck are desirable, a cover won't protect the most likely area to get hit by rocks, the bottom.

I agree with this 100%, a REV will absolutely be no better in the surf than a RN superjet. Something slightly shorter and with a very slight amount of front rocker will make surf rides more enjoyable. A light, flatwater hull will wear you out and get bounced around too much to be good for surf...

Technically, the cases are line bored as a pair from the factory so there is a chance that they could be off, probably not to the result of wrecking the bearings but more likely to have an air leak. With that said, I think there have been a good number of people that have run mismatched cases...

Same, I have the same hull (but in glass) with a bit more motor and can only do the 360s. I might have to get a trim set up and try some flips.

How short do you have your rideplate?

I would get a nice tight weave, thin weight glass to cover it all up as well. I use 1208 for large expanses like that but try and drape a layer of 9oz S glass or a light satin weave E glass over it and onto the existing hull to tie it all together and get a cleaner final surface.

Some most likely did (and if anybody did, Lenzi did). The level of engineering in the current freestyle skis is still behind most of the other industries. Even in 2006 the 701 was 16+ year old tech and many other two stroke engines and aftermarket companies where doing what we are just now...

If you ride any saltwater, stick with anodizing.

I think ADA is one of the few that doesn't need the cylinder machined to fit on so I would say that is the way to go.

Unfortunately it is just a head I bought from HPE, the motor is stock stroke, however that cylinder would be an ideal candidate for his budget stroker setup. Maybe some day.
