x2. I had to do that with a jon boat (fiberglass). Couldn't get away with it on an aluminum jon boat. I guess it's hit or miss.
I was able to show the re-built transom, re-jelled bottom etc... on the fiberglass boat and they let it slide as a DAN-Craft 2005.
On the aluminum....they didn't buy...
When you take the housing apart you will see how silly the grease fitting is.
I believe that greasing actually wastes the housing/seal bond quicker, and does not help the bearing.
Just my .02
When I had to do it, my coupler was shattered.
Ended up using a dremel to cut thru it.....very carefully.....don't wanna damage the threads on the crank. Got it thin enough to where it broke off.
Tried all else prior. It's a biotch.
Because they were hungry? Needed some shoes? Or a purse?
Or, just maybe, they just wanted to know for sure that some 3 yearold girl wasn't gonna be eaten.
I respect your opinion Matt. But, the flame is leaving a lot of people on the shore. Quite a few have yanked 'em to go back to MSD.
Maybe operator error, but if it's gonna take rocket science to get spark....give me what works.
The main complaint that I've heard/witnessed: Spark stops...
Just breakin' balls.
But ..... we both have enough friends who have tried total loss in surf.....with poor results.
I truly don't understand it. But it seems to be the case.
Total loss seems to be like a woman with PMS. Too damn sensative.
Don't even know why it works in fresh water either...
Honestly Tanner,
You need a stronger hull. Both you and Thrillhill remind me of the "Tremors" movie.
Stronger spark might make you spontaniously combust, underground! lol!
BTW: I love my tom21 holds. I love 25mm pad. They will loosen over time, as said. You will find ways to tighten them up until a re-turf. Until then....enjoy!
