    Port Timing & Duration Specifications

Its all from a riders perspective as to how the engine responds to throttle input. Our skis are not connected to anything solid like a car. Thrust occurs only when the engine is at high power/rpm. ANY power that the engine makes below stall rpm is felt as response more so than thrust. Low port...

    650/X-2 Sxr Carbs? Jetting?

Whoever decided to purdy up those carb throats destroyed the jetting reference. The whole tuning process will need to be performed. This is much tougher with twin carbs that may end up needing different settings from one another.

    Other jetting differences

If you end up with a small #main than pilot it just means that the carb has very good full throttle signal and part throttle is plenty rich. Trying to predict what will work is a fools game. Go through the tuning process and your engine will tell you what it needs.

    Johnson's 920 x-2 polaris powered

The sled engines are tuned for more rpm than our pumps can handle. Lower operating rpm is why pwcs cant post as large HP numbers. We try to make up the difference with larger displacement engines.

Other has anyone seen the 2 lb, lithium battery for watercraft?

The owner of Killacycle (the 7 sec electric drag bike) told me that A123 batteries are half the weight of the best AGM. You would be looking at $200+ and need the proper charging system for a 4-5LB battery. More weight may be saved if you skimped on capacity. I could not find any nicad cells...

Other Smooth finish on carbon fiber

I used some clear epoxy sold on ebay called Max-CLR. It works just like paint, just roll it on and it will gloss, no blush or fish-eye.

    Other Let's talk about props

Pump load should be high on the list of priorities. Missing the power bubble will undo a lot of $$$$$ worth of engine mods. Big engine guys have it easy because they can pull anything in a 144 pump. Small engine guys need to put in the time if they want a really good running boat.

Super Jet nozzle size and impeller

You need lower pump load than with a 61x cyl to get the rpms up. I would bore the nozzle as much as practical and get a concord pitched down to 13/16 or one of those 9-15 hookers. I have tested both styles of nozzles up to 85mm with no ill effects. The rev limit will need to be raised a little.

    Other Let's talk about props

Yep, pumps are just another meaningless name and number to the average jetskier, just like carburetors. Popularity is all that counts, this is a world where perception is reality. Its mainly because most participants are young and/or only interested in riding. Most tech guys are old.

Super Jet If you don't ride your ski for long time, will htere be any problem to the engine?

I dont see a problem with a vacuum unless you are really dumb and try to clean up straight gas. Leaving the hood propped up just 1/2" will evaporate about a quart of water in a week depending on the humidity.

FX-1 Started my 650 pump swap

An unmodified 750-800 prop will require the pump set slightly further aft than with a 650 prop. A 750 pump wont need as much setback as a 650 pump. Im just saying set it up for 750 props unless you want to do machine work on every prop. Useing a 650 prop leaves exposed splines that will get...

FX-1 Started my 650 pump swap

Set the mounting distance to use 750-800 props. They will use and seal the driveshaft splines. Plus there are modern props available. Concords for 750s were relatively low pitched.

RAD DUDES X2 Direct Steer STA Fix Kit

I made this one, the steering is 12" aft which puts my feet near the edge of the footwells. Still more nose heavy than a standup so planing is no problem. The ride is much smoother and drier. The nose stays up when jumping and there are no painful landings. With a little power it will easily...

Super Jet If you don't ride your ski for long time, will htere be any problem to the engine?

The key to good storage is in getting all the water out and starting it every month or two to keep the carbs in shape. I have found corrosion to be the number one issue with skis because the owners store them wet and never do a lengthy blow out. Any water in the tank will end up sitting in the...
