For a Rickter just take a 650sx and make it so a lot of bow spray is in your face. Very few jetskiers will measure and chart technical data beyond size and weight. That stuff is nerdy and not cool.
Looks like you will have about 10% more power all else equal. You are at the point of blindly throwing money around looking for more power. Get your existing cylinder bored/ported and learn how to tune the carbs and pump. Im assuming you already have a pipe.
The turn plate would be ideal if it was mounted on a longer spindle with two bearings and standard shaft seals. This would cure all of the maintenance problems that current designs suffer. Everything is designed to work with a stock spindle which is too short forcing designers to make...
A modified stock 64U head with an OEM gasket will do a good job for the least expense. It is unlikely you would ever need the girdle or need to change domes since you are happy with the stock cylinder. BTW, stock cooling is more than enough for stock port cylinders.
A 155 will have little advantage a low speeds without increasing the inlet to match. A 144 will overload a 701 very easily so I think that a proper 155 mod is better suited for bigger engines. Im very confident that a 155 can make better static thrust than a 144 with any engine though.
You would need a hull that already has a 155 inlet in order to to get maximum low speed thrust. The main benefit is being able to use lower blade angles and have higher inlet pressure at low speeds. This is more effecient with larger engines than trying to increase load in a 144. A magazine...
Get a Yamaha 144 pump and shaft from a raider. This will place the pump aft and provide plenty of inlet area. Move the steering aft so that you are standing at the rear of the ski. Now your X2 is in the same configuration as as a freestyle standup except slightly more nose heavy. Shortening the...
An SJ grate will be against the bulkhead with the shoe in its stock location. It would be easier to move the pump aft, use a SJ shaft, and fill the open space.
A 701 needs a very low blade angle with 144 impeller. Once pitch requirements excede 17-18 degrees a larger diameter pump should be used. Standups have lower inlet pressure than couches so just increasing pitch to load a powerful engine doesnt work as well. I think stock 155mm pumps would be...
I have been playing with OEM 44s lately and have found them to need a fairly rich part throttle mixture for best response. I had to tune the top screw 60+ rpm rich of peak whenever part throttle was lean enough to prevent excessive fourcycling. This tune gave best overall range and safest full...
