Yea Ive seen that boat many times before, just never lots of pictures of the actual bottom. That man does some great glass work.... and uses a LOT of body filler. I cant wait to get some new tubbies on my hull...
LoL, Yea you should have been a bit suspiscious when you see a somewhat ordinary 550 sounding that loud.
Something happened out there while I was riding... I think the rear cylinder got water in it, and the front for some reason went EXTREMELY rich. I was somewhat ticked that I didnt...
Dump what you will... Nothing will be done to my ski until I can buy some more cloth.
Saying that my 38s are running 65 low jet and still dirt rich and my carbon boysens have been bent back from to high velocity, I may trade out for dual 44s soon... but thats about it.
Well yea, thats the plan. I'm just unsure of how I should go about it.
I think Im going to cut the nose off as is now, then make a plug out of some foam. Lay a first layer down of matting or Eglass, then pull the foam and continue glassing the nose onto the ski.
I have to make...
I put a 9/17 with a 6mm cutback in my 701'ed and 140mm pump'ed js550. It RIPs!! Good impeller, still have a little cavitation but I think thats a bad silicone job mixed with an over aggressive toploader. Just need to see what it will be like when matched with a TBM pumpcone.
Lets not...
Meh... For a 750 Id say its ok, but after you pay to have it machined and repitched to fit a 650 pump Id say that your somewhat getting a bum deal. In the off season impros is basically giving away impellers with machine work.
I just got my 9/17 skat Hooker impeller with a 6mm cutback for...
Hey munkie... Could you hook me up with Dave? I met him at daytona and he had that 7" shortened 550. I'm wondering if he had any pictures of his build... particularly how he redid the nose....
Wow... I would pay at least $1000 for that. And thats coming from a broke college student who put a 701 and 140mm pump in a 550 because I couldnt afford a fx1....
Cool Stuff man. Its cool seeing other people still doing 550 stuff.
Its not that hard doing a pump swap. Just 1/2 gallon of resin and 2 yards of cloth and biax, and a donor 650 hull that you dont mind ever riding again. :smokin:
Whatd you get? Big pin or small pin? Modded any yet?
