    Advise Jetting for New Setup.

Alright. What would be the difference between a 1.5, 2.0 and 2.3 N/S in this instance? I'm assuming that with to low of a popoff on 44s, with a larger seat, the carbs may leak at idle and overload to easy. To small and it will have a crappy lean middle transistion, and to high of a...

Better than yours 550 freestyle build.

My new cylinder arrived tonight. A Tim Judge ported 61x cylinder. Engraved Riva. Stock 81mm bore, came with OE pistons, Riva non girdled head, and 35cc domes. Its a pretty one. All the ports and runners have been worked on, and from what I understand it seems to be a freestyle...

Better than yours 550 freestyle build.

Tried my best to clean the crank, new seals, and then reassemble. Used some loctite 518.... Cases back together. A bit of rust on the crank webs... but bearings look clean and it rolls smooth.

Better than yours 550 freestyle build.

After the powdercoating, on to some epoxy work. I used some neat medical grade epoxy that is hard as a rock and oven curable. Filled the voids and ported the tunnels in the intake. I tried to make them as even and radiused as possible. And yes I did epoxy behind the stator. Then after...

Better than yours 550 freestyle build.

So long time no update. Last time around I cracked the nose nearly off, repaired that, then melted a piston on the next ride. Pretty sure I had a bad reed, or bad crank seal problem, not really sure? Eitherway, Its been a on going problem that I hope I fixed this time.... Figured I'd...

Interesting. This is a 61x cylinder. However it has some traits I'm not used to seeing. The intake side skirt has been narrowed, and in front of the transfer runners the sleeve has been... removed... similar to that of a kawasaki. It is no longer flush with the bottom of the...

Ok... cool. So main jetting is somewhat similar to 38s... At least mine. Lows are much higher though Dunno... should I take measurements of the depth of all the ports or should I try and get a degree wheel and find the timing? What would be the best way for someone to help with...

My cylinder just came in. I need to crack the head off to get some good measurements.... But damn this thing is beautiful.

What is the best Rec Freestyle Carb Set up?

Ive done lots of research on the pure engineering behind the carbs and Id say I'd pick a set of blackjacks anyday over a full spec. But thats me. As for the original question. I definitely say find a set of mikuni 46s and be done with it.

So Ive searched through a couple threads but none would seem to apply directly to what I have done. Im putting together a totally new motor setup and I have NO idea on even where to start on jetting. For one, I have only worked on jetting dual 38s with a filled crossover.. My pilot was 65...

    Pump Blueprinting

Probably figuring out how to lay new steering, cooling and driveshaft lines.... that or just trying to match up the hulls and bulkhead up for the right drivetrain angles. I did all that thinking I was going to use a kawi 850 motor. I later decided to use the yamaha motor after I set the...

Well I actually built 2 of them. The first one ran off and crashed into a tree on the first ride. So who knows how many hours. probably 30 -40 each. As for the hull, I'm putting a layer or two of 2oz e glass and then a layer of 9oz 2x2 twill on the entire bottom and in the engine bay...

Yea... ride review = AWEESOME Its the most squirrely ski Ive ever riden. Nothing even comes close. its a good 30-35 lbs lighter than a fx1, even with a full gas tank. I'm getting a TBM pump cone and it should be out of this world with this new motor im building (which for superjet...

Ouch! Take that cylinder off for a hone and new rings before you do anything else!

LoL, taking it out deffinately helps unload the pump some. A built 750 motor can rip the veins out just from pump pressure alone if it revs to high, and making those areas flow better definitely help.

Sanding drums seem to almost always work better than stone bits, you just need 10-20 of them as they burn through fast.. The main areas to deal with after you do all the grunt work is turning the 3 bolt bodies down the hub into smooth ramps. Also there are 2 recesses down the outside walls...

If you do it nicely you can gain 2-4 mm in overall pump diameter from cutting the inside and outside walls. Theres lots of little secrets in 550 blue printing... =]

you should have taken off the impeller so you can get at it from both ends. Ditch the wax and stone, that will take FOREVER. Get 10-15 sanding drums.
