powder coat on aluminum in a marine environment is not recommended.it will peel and allow water to permeate in between encouraging further corrosion.
it does look nice but???
ping pong ball may collapse so keep an eye on it.
the taper of the hole should be a bit steeper as you don't want the ball to wedge itself if pushed back during a tail landing.
cutting an oring groove where the ball seats will improve sealing also.
i don't know that i would do that on those heads.the shell is 2 pieces and perhaps not as stiff as the ada therefore may not hold the cylinder down as well?
the double threaded nut setup is imo better as it actually clamps the base down just as oem intended it.
other than obvious faults like loose connectors and wires there is no real telltale.either they work or they don't.some stop working when hot but that doesn't really visibly show up either.
the bushing can wear also,not just the washers.replacement bushings are one piece so no separate washer.
you need to silicone the bracket in position also as the bolts alone will not hold it in position.
