650sx vs 2014 Superjet what can I expect?

This is the number one problem with old jetskis. Its not the hours of run time that ever kills them, its always an ignorant or careless owner. The fist thing Ive noticed is very few people blow all the water out of the exhaust and store the ski properly. Ive seen skis completely ruined after...

650sx vs 2014 Superjet what can I expect?

The ADA head is ever popular and almost as difficult to get sealed to the cylinder!

650sx vs 2014 Superjet what can I expect?

All the two stroke Superjets will be easier to ride. Superjets have better thrust and the hull has some grip so it can turn flat. I ride both skis and I find the 650sx more challenging to turn and stay on top of. The 2008 and newer hulls are more race oriented so they do everything better as...

cylinder number 2 very lean on Superjet

All single carb engines will have one cylinder hotter than the other. Tune the hot cylinder and let the cold one do whatever it wants. Multiple carbs can be adjusted to meet each cylinders needs.

    Pipes??

Its a good time to be older and have a lot of junk skis and parts laying around. KIds now are lining up to pay out of sight prices. This is nothing compared to the recent Porsche 911 insanity.

    Pipes??

Look at 1993 prices and factor inflation. A new Factory pipe would be around $1000 now. No standup pipe has been made in quantity in 25 years. The days of finding 5 yr old skis equipped with all the goodies for $1500 are long gone. All old skis are past their expiration date, they need to be...

    Locked-up Yamaha 735

Any large cylinder two stroke is easy to burn up. Unfortunately you won't fully appreciate this fact until it is experienced first hand. Next time tune the carbs rich of peak power!

94 superjet heat temp removal (limp mode)

You can cut the sensor off and it will run as long as the wires aren't touching each other. The box will need to be opened in order to unplug it.

    Carb settings 701 61x single 46mm

He just needs a carb with a bigger number next to its name, Everyone knows that is the be all end all of jetskis!

    Small pin to big pin

That is the angle from the keel to the chine. Standups are generally flat or else they become effectively more narrow at high speeds. Get a 750sx over 50mph and you'll know how it feels.

    Small pin to big pin

The 750sx CDI box needs stators that have windings on every pole. The ZXI CDI uses the battery so its stator has two poles left unwound. The 750sx is an inch narrower than the 650sx or Superjet, it also has more deadrise so it is easier to lean over. The old 750 likes to turn on edge where the...

Other For Sale: 86' Honda 350X 3 wheeler, VERY low hours, rarely used. The King Daddy and rarest of 3 wheelers.

There is a lot of extra money floating around right now. I remember riding those 350s in the early 90s. I can't imagine ever wanting to do it again!

    Just picked up an fx-1

The 144 is a good mod if you are also going to replace the entire inlet. A kawasaki 650 pump with a 900zxi shaft is easier and will work as well as 144 with the stock inlet.

    Just picked up an fx-1

Twin carbs will wake up the pipe a little. The FX1 pump isn't big enough to load the engine so dual inlets won't do as much for it. A single carb is generally a lot easier to tune but one cylinder will always be hotter than the other. Duals are better IF you can tune them.

    Solas 10/16 feedback

Pump testing is a lot of work. I stopped when my last pitch adjustment made no improvement with the same 85mm protec nozzle. I have a 650sx that pulled harder with 84-85mm nozzles when compared to an 80. . Surprisingly there was only a 100 rpm increase going from an 80 to 85. A pair of sbn44s...

    Solas 10/16 feedback

Your RPM is in the range for 61x cylinders with an exhaust port under 180 degrees open. You can now judge your pump load by how quickly it gets on the pipe. Your peak rpm will vary with porting and pipe length. If you want better response and thrust, bore the nozzle before you bend the...

    701 “wake up” exhaust mod

A 62T cylinder will really come to life with a tuned pipe . Finding one that fits in a 550 hull is difficult since they are narrower than a Superjet. The 550s pump inlet is small for a 140, it can work okay in smooth water.

    701 “wake up” exhaust mod

The stock rev limit is 7000 rpm or so. You won't get there without a very low pitched impeller.

    701 “wake up” exhaust mod

I would expect nothing considering the stock exhaust has no tuning. Ive never tried one, get a before and after rpm or top speed and spread some knowledge.

I am new and have a question

Im about 30 years beyond my "destruction" phase. Kids get mad when you tell them to clean their room, or fix their jetskis.
