If the gasket is fairly new and doesn't tear it should be fine to re-use. Try using the stiffer spring to raise the popoff. Most Yamaha's run a fairly high popoff. Also, if you start closing off the low speed and it dies out then the adjuster would seem to be working........meaning passages are...
You can still accomplish towing all of this in a much safer manner. Put a standard hitch on the camper and use that for the trailer. Get some 2" square tubing welded to the rear of the trailer and gusseted, then put the hitch hauler back there.
There are 2 different brown and red connectors going to the gauges. One set is input TO the gauge, the other is output FROM the gauge. Unhook both and put the 2 different colored connectors on the HARNESS SIDE to each other. Start function of the gauges is now bypassed.
I agree, that's a pretty long lever and it already had over 300 pounds of weight applied........and then the tongue weight of the following trailer...Hell, I'm kind of surprised you made it more than a mile from the house LOL!!
A quick look at lever calculations puts you at WELL OVER 2000#...
I've seen this several times on the Yamaha twins. Check AC voltage of the 'charge' coil while running. Slowly increase throttle and watch voltage as you rev it and it starts breaking up. If the AC voltage drops then the 'charge' coil is bad.
It sounds like you're very new to PWC's. First of all, ANYTHING that's been sitting any length of time will need the WHOLE fuel system gone through. Clean out gas tank, inspect fuel pickup, inspect/replace fuel lines, vacuum test fuel switch, and rebuild the carb. ***Failure to do this on a...
Yep......When I first started riding my 650sx I had trouble controlling it. I'm 6'8" and currently 230#. I can lean off the rear and ride full throttle on it now. Just have to get a real good feel for the hull so you know where it's happy with you on it.
Ok, I've been looking at some of the 'better' off-brand stuff. I don't need water cooled but pulse and spot would be nice. Looks like there is some decent home hobbyist stuff out these days for around $800. I'll be at 14-1500 with a bottle and extras.
