Another big step today and piece of this puzzle........the pole is reinstalled! I also recovered the chin pad and gave it a bit more solid mounting option. I happen to have a 'nut-sert' or 'riv-nut' tool, I also happen to have a box full of stainless nuts. The 4 topside holes now have threaded...
The exhaust fit in nicely. That stinger water line will get a tee and run over to the oem 750 water temp sensor and out the pisser which are now both installed too.
Next step is RUN YOUR FUEL LINES!! You absolutely CAN'T hook them to the fuel switch with the electrical box in place. Which brings us to the e-box. There is ONE way to get this puppy installed with engine in place. Make sure your drive coupler cover is removed. Leave the jam nuts a bit loose on...
And 'viola'!! It sits in there fine and got bolted on with the fuel/choke plate. And if anybody wants/needs these decals, I can get them in any color you want for $25 shipped.
I worked a long hard day today. Got 6 hours in on this between helping/supervising my son doing a brake job and replacing a vent actuator on his girlfriends Buick.
First things first, get this e-box reinstalled. I noticed the 750 e-box bracket stands off the original 550 mount about 1/8". I put...
So far today.....
-I pulled MOST of a hat out of a rental ski jet pump.
-I checked out a no start issue on an old Polaris SL650
-I did checks on a '95 Seadoo GTX and GTS....both will need carbs gone through
-Currently doing a wear ring and fuel system rehab on a different '95 Seadoo GTX
Today I spent several hours going through wiring diagrams and loading everything back into the e-box. Buttoned up the holes with new aluminum grommets, and tried fitment out with the headpipe in place.
Dang......July hit me hard. Everybody and their cousin brought broken skis out of the woodwork to get fixed. Been doing 60+ hour weeks all month. Finally got more progress in this weekend. I heated the aluminum around this fitting and pulled it out. Then drilled and tapped the hole so I could...
I just put the spit-shine on a couple of mine I finished up. Wife and I rode 'em for 30-45 minutes Friday evening. I put a real lashing on that Gsx lol!!
Ready to sell!.........er flip!
Today I finished putting a new fuel pump in an Ultra 130 Di........what a HUGE pain in the hiney!!
I checked out a Seadoo GTX Di that another shop had rebuilt and the owner only rode for about 3 hours until it messed up. Well.......red flags EVERYWHERE, and a total HACK JOB! Oh,.....and it's...
Nope.......you really need to check the owners manual. starting in the 90's a lot of manufacturers were starting to use 5w-30. You just need to make sure that's what yours uses!
