Thanks......those plain jane numbers just make me sick LOL! The color match was tough, back and forth with they shop printing out several color swatches for me. Then a bit of learning as well about the graphic color hex system. What you see on the screen DOES NOT print out the same in real...
After some back and forth with a few pics and careful color selection, I got my new custom registration numbers. The guys at my local graphics place are great to deal with.
I have to agree with WFO on this one. I listened to the videos and that sounds like lower rod bearing slop to me........which is normally what goes first on a well used Yamaha 650/701. A light honing won't make much difference at all to the bore size. Best to measure it BUT....I have a hick...
I also have always run the BR9es in Kawi's with no issues. The "all or nothing" swap ski I recently finished has already been ridden many hours on the same pair of BR9es plugs. Breaks in the plug wires cause the spark to have to jump a gap. The end result is LOTS of resistance at the discharge...

Since those appear to be pieces of a piston skirt.......I'd guess the bore is so loose that the piston skirt was slapping back and forth until it cracked. Then the bits start breaking down and spitting up through the ports. Lower rod bearing and adjacent crank bearings are probably toast now as...
For anybody that's curious on how much time actually goes into a build like this.............here are the numbers!! Can it be done quicker?.....YOU BET!......but the end result will be a direct reflection of that saved time.
550sx ski complete disassembly, strip decals, and thorough cleaning of...
And the big reveal!!...........For anybody that thought I just ruined a nice 'pink lightning' hull by stripping those decals off when I first started this build.........I hope your happy now......LOL..:D:D:D
I worked 'til a bit after 10pm with my wife's help last night. @Donatello was coming to the lake for the holiday so I HAD to wrap this up! Here are some SUPER NICE Jettrim mats going on.
