I still work on mostly 2 strokes, lots of them still around here. The customers WILL seek you out. I had 7 dropped off last week. Two of those drove OVER 3 hours to bring it to me. One from Fort Smith and one from just south of Memphis.

I simply CAN NOT handle stupid these days. This is EXACTLY the reason I DON'T do any dock or house calls at all. Bring it to my shop and put it in line.

I'm not sure how you do the wear rings but I got to where I carve 3 little spots out of the ring close to the vanes with a carbide. Then I flip it over with the ears up on a couple 4x4's. Then I use a rod and hammer and just tap the old one out. It's quicker and cleaner than just cutting a slit...

INSTALLING SKI ROPE CLEAT TO 98 XP

You guys are all nuts!! It's super easy to set up the spring seat XP for towing!! First,.......and I know this sounds like a lot of work,....you need to set up a sling or hoist of some sort to get the ski up off the trailer just a little bit. Next pull the trailer out from under the XP and set...

I always have a meter with me in my lake test toolbag to test voltage/ohms while running if I have an issue. I had a GSX Rfi once just BARELY over-charging.......like 15.2 volts.........and it would start acting a fool.

    98 xp 951 only 6600rpm

ANY number of things can cause lower RPM's. More would be nice BUT.....I don't worry about them if they turn more than 6300-6400. What condition is the pump/impeller in?

You got a link or part number for that Bosch regulator? I needed one a while back and for the life of me couldn't find any notes on which one it was! I've had coils on the RFI act like that. Also had rusty metal bits stuck to the crank sensor do that too. I had to lower my GTX Di to 3k but sold...

And since I'm NOT spending any money on decals...........some carefully placed Sharpie helps camoflage the dock rash. It's far from perfect but REALLY helps keep the eyes from zero-ing in on the damage.
