The only benefit of the long winter was having a little more time to finish up my winter builds and projects which neither of the 2 are done yet. I don't' know what will take longer...Lake Michigan to warm up or for me to pick up all the dog s**t hiding in the 1,000 feet of snow in the backyard.
It's not as hard as you think. Just make some templates and take your time. A heat gun helps when you need to start stretching it around the foothold areas.
I am from the area as well, and we ride in South Haven MI most of the time but when we go for day trips it is just over the border in Indiana in Gary. They just renovated the launch and parking lot there so it is pretty nice. We talk about trying to ride on Lake Mich here in Chicago but we...
After an hour or 2 riding yesterday, when I would start the motor I would hear a winding/zinging noise when the starter was engaged that I have never heard before but it started fine. It is 99 SJ, and I assume the starter is still the original. Anyone else heard this before? I am just trying...
the previous owner had a Rule Bilge installed and it was just glued to the bottom of the hull with a small pad with little nipple like prongs that when through the bilge mount. It finally came unglued and I don't have time to order the bracket for it. What kind of glue/fastener could be a...
Ok, I will try that. What should I use to fill the hole on the outside so I can smooth it out just to make sure any little cracks around the hole don't chip away or get bigger.
I am not sure of the material on my footholds, someone else bought it. I found dbm 1208 biaxial cloth on us composites, will that be the best? So 2 layers only on the inside will be enough?
AFter a ride this weekend I realized a clamp for my pipe vibrated a small hole through my lower hull (a circle a little smaller then a dime). I was thinking doing 2 layers of glass on the inside and 2 layers on the outside using the same stuff that I used for my footholds. would that be...
I have has the pipe on my ski for 2 years and I have never had any issues with it at all. I mainly ride on lake Michigan and we do get some really good surf sometimes. On the flat days is it kind of nice to have some good mid to top end power. Ultimately, I would like to get the stones to try...
Just curious..I have that same RIVA pipe on my 99 SJ and always wondered how much of a difference the B-pipe would make. Since you upgraded to the B-pipe can you really notice a big difference? I know the B-pipe is WAY easier to work on and around, but besides that did it really pull harder...
It does not have the stock paint. I will post some more pics when I get it so I can try and figure out what it is. Like I said, at the very least it will be the garage/shop piece of art, lol
