It's not as hard as you think. Just make some templates and take your time. A heat gun helps when you need to start stretching it around the foothold areas.

After an hour or 2 riding yesterday, when I would start the motor I would hear a winding/zinging noise when the starter was engaged that I have never heard before but it started fine. It is 99 SJ, and I assume the starter is still the original. Anyone else heard this before? I am just trying...

Ok, I will try that. What should I use to fill the hole on the outside so I can smooth it out just to make sure any little cracks around the hole don't chip away or get bigger.

Just curious..I have that same RIVA pipe on my 99 SJ and always wondered how much of a difference the B-pipe would make. Since you upgraded to the B-pipe can you really notice a big difference? I know the B-pipe is WAY easier to work on and around, but besides that did it really pull harder...

It does not have the stock paint. I will post some more pics when I get it so I can try and figure out what it is. Like I said, at the very least it will be the garage/shop piece of art, lol
