Time to sell my KX450F. I only ran 1/4 tank through it this whole summer due to not having time!
I put on a new timing chain and tuned the top end on it back in June. It's got Pro Circuit silicone hoses and a Boyesen high volume water pump. It's a freaking beast!
Looking to get $3250 for it...
Sounds like you need to take the line out of the bottom of the headpipe and use that for your warmers. I'm assuming that line now goes out the side of the boat?
You could just pull it off of the bypass fitting and connect it to your line up the pole. That water would be toasty warm.
You should run your handwarmer line exclusively up the pole. it looks like you're 't'd into a bypass. You can add restrictors if you need to raise the temperature. I used to just disconnect my bypass at the head, then connect the line running up my pole. PLENTY of heat even in 40 degree water.
I don't really know. I'm going to take a year and think about it (and test ride a bunch of different set-ups) then build something next winter (2012-2013).
Let us know what you think of the Q8 after you ride it!
Not anymore.
They used to let you launch on the beach, but that's a thing of the past. I'm not sure if a beach cart would be allowed or not though. That might be one they'd let slip by. I can't believe the girl at the park office couldn't tell you!
It's all about technique. I'm sure if I rode with someone who's doing FWB I'd figure it out. I know one day it's going to click and they'll be second nature (just like rolls).
8mm Lamey stroker, 803cc, with total loss, xscream modified 'b' pipe, xscream 46's, 190psi compression (pump gas). $5500 shipped - complete motor.
I just rode it again this afternoon and it is a sweet motor.
The SHCS on the flame arrestors look WAY more sano than the stock hex head ones - good call there!
The ski looks killer with the graphics on there now!
Long rods are good for higher RPM, and are normally used on a stroker motor to compensate for the longer stroke. They also reduce the "critical rod angle" on the piston pin (reducing piston and bore wear). On a stock stroke motor, there wouldn't be a need/benefit for the longer rods.
