Anything that uses Kawasaki parts is awesome to me!
What's the ID of the tilt ring, as well as the ID of the turn nozzle? I might have to order up some pieces and try them out.
I was thinking this was referring to your ski. I expected to see pictures of a -6" adjustable xmetal handlepole, a TBM pump stuffer, and a 'b' pipe with a stinger mod.
Talk about disappointing.... :squint:
OK Chris, I'll have 3 crank cores coming down. Will you have a tent or something there where they can be dropped off?
I've also got a coil, but no grommets - what's that worth to ya?
I've got three (3) crankshafts for ya. What's the best way to get them down to you? I have a feeling shipping will run me the same as the $20 I'll get for each one. :-)
Maybe I can find a Michigander to haul them down to Daytona?
The modified exhaust is usually so that you can get your footholds farther forward. The steering cable mod is a must-do if you plan on using trim a lot (especially if you're turning the bars when pulling the trim)
You definitely want to use the EXTRA SLOW cure hardener (209) and the caulk gun...
Any home improvement store should have it. I bought a 3/4" thick 4' x 8' sheet for $9.00 and that was far more than enough. I think the whole sheet weighs 2 lbs. Use a SHARP utility knife, and keep a vacuum handy for all those little balls after you cut it. Once you get the polystyrene in place...
No decision to be made there - polystyrene ALL THE WAY!!!! No mater how good you think you get the boat together, water will get in there. You saw that I re-did mine with polystyrene, and man I'm SO GLAD I did!
It's a TON easier to get the polystyrene in the bottom and top decks while they're...
Hopefully your process is exactly that simple. I know if I were to do it again, I would simplify it substantially!
Be sure to post a thread about the build so other folks can learn from what you did. A conversion ski is really a fun project.
+1 on the red loctite. Be liberal with that stuff too! Torque the first nut against the pole as hard as you can, then re-coat the threads on the bolt, and put the locknut on. Then torque that up against the first nut being careful not to turn the bolt while doing that. Leave the pole in the...
Nicely done Mark! Those rolls looked suuuuuuuuuuper clean, and the backy was perfect!
I've got to get at least one ride with you guys out there this fall.
Yes, it'll work fine on a 1993. All superjet's used the same turn plate. The FX-1's had a slightly different plate. The 1993 has a shorter throw cable than the 1996, but the stock turnplate won't effect that (aftermarket would).
Your set-up wave is not the best direction for your roll. Since you're rolling left, you should use a left hand set-up wave.
More importantly, you need to learn how to 'bronco' first. A bronco is the motion of a barrel roll, but the second half is underwater. Start with a series of 's'...
