Other Does ANYONE have AM Hull Insurance?

So Markel wouldn't do full coverage, but they'd do liability, right? I'm also waiting to hear back from Grundy insurance as well. I think once we find a place that will insure, they're going to get about 10-15 policies written in a 24 hour period!

Other Does ANYONE have AM Hull Insurance?

WOOO HOOOO!!!!! I just got a quote from Markel insurance (http://www.markelinsuresfun.com/home). phone number is 800-236-2453, and I talked with Gay. She's awesome and will gladly help anyone else out. $300,000 liability - no problems with it being homebuilt. I'll probably get the policy next...

Other Does ANYONE have AM Hull Insurance?

Absolutely!! BUT, the umbrella won't cover anything that isn't already covered. For example, if I have liabilty inusrance on my ski, THAT pays the first $300,000, THEN the umbrella kicks in and covers the the remaining $1,000,000. If I dont' have liability on my ski, the umbrella does nothing.

Other Does ANYONE have AM Hull Insurance?

In addition to coverage for a high dollar custom boat, I've been struggling (more so) with LIABILITY insurance!!!! That's what concerns me far more than replacement value. If I need to, I can self insure a $20,00-$40,000 machine. I don't want to self insure a $2,000,000 liability claim if my...

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

Here's the "injury" video. Note how the ski stops so abruptly as it slams into me, then slides backwards. Ouch.

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

I need to remember that next time. As far as the camera work goes, the guy running the thing was awesome. He even had the perfect sound of disappointment at the end. :cheer: What the heck is wrong with all you helmet guys? I've never come close to hitting my head on ANY trick I've tried...

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

Went back to my "old style" and JUST about have it now!!! The ski did one, and I almost made it for the whole thing. I tried another one right after this and kicked too hard and the nose of the ski nailed me in the back. That put me out for the rest of the day. I think I'm only one or two more...

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

I won't get back to the lake until this weekend. I'll try my old technique again and see if I can't nose one in. Except for the fact that a bike weighs 20 lbs and the ramp is perfectly curved. Tossing a 280lb ski over your head off of a 2' wave that's different EVERY TIME YOU HIT IT, is not...

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

Wrong. My cylinder porting is NOT Xscream porting. My exhaust ports are 0.5mm higher than what they do. Because of that, my off idle is not as big, but my midrange is gigantic. I had a 13-19 hooker on there, and lost ALL bottom end I had (top end was screaming fast). I need a prop that's "loose"...

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

Done. When do you want to come pick up the motor? I can have it in your boat in about 4 hours. The problem is, if you get that motor, then it'll be YOUR responsibility to show me how to backflip on flatwater.... :-)

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

I know I'm screwing that up too. Everytime I try one, I end up locking my gaze on the stupid bow-eye! I need to watch the tray leave the water, then imediately, toss my head and spot my landing.

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

I think you're right on there. I need to think about getting the boat to spin around me, instead of me spinning with the boat. Good point. I think if I use that squatting with my old technique (2nd video), I should be able to get close.

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

I'm at full 'braaap', and using all 26.5º of my trim on my set-up as well as my launch. I REFUSE to use a boat wake because they're totally different than a set-up wave or a big lake (or ocean) wave. I hate boat wakes. All a helmet would do is make my head more buoyant and cause it to hit the...

More flatwater backflip attempts - still can't get it

After watching the video from this weekend above, I think I'd be better off going back to my old style. I used to try to drop the nose as far as possible into the water before powering up the wave, then get the boat to spin around me. I also made more of a 'v' wake and timed it to hit the lip...
