For the record, the hood is painted...top-hull is gelcoat...lower-hull is painted (smc).
Getting paint to match gelcoat is near impossible because of how gelcoat and paint fade over time differently. Even if you can match gelcoat to paint while mixing, once hardner is added, it will again alter the shade.
A good example of this is black and white...you would think that both are easy to match (gelcoat to paint) but reality is its not so easy and there are many shades of black.
The best suggestion I have is to drop off your hood at an automotive (trade only) paint supply store and have them color match it. Your minimum order should be 1 quart. Most better paint supply shops will have computerized paint scanners.
