I hate to say it...but I tried for 3 hours straight to do a tail stand, and I can't get the back to sink....I tried to spin out and go into a stand but I'm not gonna lie I kinda psych myself out...it was so frustrating to be out there while all the other male jet skiers can do it without a problem...I felt like an idiot...so I guess I need to try something else...

I had the same problem at first. I weigh like 130 so just standing in my tray doesnt do much. What i do is break it loose and spin a 180 then let off the throttle and lean back. The you will already have the momentum from the spin and you should be able to stand it up. The harder part is getting the 180 perfect so you can carry your momentum backwards.

Agree. I tried just standing on the ski and letting it sink, but it was hard for me. The first time I did a good 180 and leaned back the ski went straight up and then back too far. A few more tries and I could do the tail stand easily. Doing it from a 180 is not hard at all, even if you are light. Use the momentum from the ski !!

tailstands are good ones too. Tail stands can be tough for small, light people :). My buddies wife can stand on hers at idle and it wont sink!
Good luck!

Hate to say I told you so ;)...............but keep at it. The 180 will help for sure once you get it down. Just be sure and stay centered over the ski when you spin, and then lean back. Its really tough at first when you are small and light :) I have watched my buddies wife try so many times, but she is just too light (<100 maybe?)

On a better note, barrel rolls will be much easier for you (you will rotate quicker and get more height...............:)

My buddies wife got a 5/8 to 3/4 on her first try..................hes been trying all summer...............lol

Dont get too wrapped up in "having to do the _____ trick". Ride to have fun. I almost stopped riding because I got so frustrated learning rolls. If you push it to hard it becomes work and less enjoyable...............just have fun and it will come!

Throttle control is very important when you are doing this trick.

Also you can try taking one foot out of the tray when you have the nose up to help stabilize. This also allows you to move you weight out further.

agree with the throttle control part of the trick....in fact it's kinda the trick that made me realize how important throttle control is.....i remember trying this for hours and never getting the tail to sink......then i started going slower and slower.....and then goosin it while standing on the lip of the tray and leaning way back....the nose will go strait up and kinda settle back down like that....but you need to be carefull with the throttle.....too much and you will fall over wackwards.....too little and you will fall over sideways....oh and it's takes alot of fast steering adjustments at first untill you just kinda know where to be.....keep trying and one time you will just get it! then you will want to stay out on the water for 5 more hours trying to perfect it!! good luck!!......

My first trick was power subs, then I moved onto regular subs. I tried to do a nose stab for the first time this weekend and it went better than expected although I havent gotten it down yet. I still have a hard time with tail stands too, i can do them out of 180's but its tough for me when I just get going. I have been riding alot with another member on here Travis132 and we kinda push each other which helps alot, I highly recommend finding a consistant riding buddy!
