DO YOU THINK THAT IS JUST A RESULT OF PLACEMENT OR JUST (oops) or just the nature of the new design?

i'm wondering if it's placement myself front to back?
looking at a pic of the hull it maybe that yours are a little far back not allowing the tapered trailing edge to do it's job of directing the flow back to the hull at a more centered location. we've talked about the height issue and are both on the same page there.

Its not the sponsons at all, there is virtually almost none of it in contact at higher speeds. I'm sure its the ride plate being a bit too short, it just screws up the tracking at higher speeds and allows the hull to do wierd things. Really doesn''t matter for surf, as you are always turning and jumping at slower speeds anyway.

It is probably the ride plate,I have the extended plate on mine and it is dead stable at wide open speeds,it also turns like a mofo,I haven't tried the stock length plate yet or a d -cut plate.I may just go with a stocker first,I am not sure about the d-cut.Maybe I can borrow one from someone at the freeride and check it out.

I will be trying a few different plates this spring to find the one that works best on glass water, or perhaps make one from glass. The stocker has a few degrees of downforce built into it and the stupid braking hole, my PJS is flat with the hull, I would like that in a glass/carbon version.

Its not the tubbies, DEFINETLY the ride plate. Mine tracks great, my brother's (cut an additional 1.5" off the back and rideplate.) is ALL OVER THE PLACE at high speed. I have my motor out now and I'm chopping another 1.5" off the back. Turning and loose handle far outweight high speed stability. Plus I'm advancing my timing so much I wont be able to hold the throttle open wide for more than 10-15secs.

Rode with clonies on today, can you say "crazy turn guy". With the short rideplate cut to the first rib and the hole gone, she would turn on a small dime, but had some issues with rollover at moderate to high speeds. Sacrificing great turning for stability is probably an asset when surf riding, but not great for zipping down the glass water in the river. Note; new primer location and hand warmers.
hey crab nice pic, i love your handle bar pad, how cold is water, did you fall into water, what did you use for hand warmers

35 degree water, tried to stay out of it. I took one of lines to the pissers and routed it up through a hole drilled right next to the cable hole.

i rode yesterday, the water temp was 38 and i tried like hell to stay out of it. i only got wet to about my knees and a little spray in the face every now and then. i need to rig up some warmers. i dont know about you crab but it felt great to be back on the water even though it was cold.

Agree on that, exept for the brain freeze from ice cold water in the face. Use the 3/8 vinyl tubing all the way to the grips, I had a nice even flow on my gloves the whole ride.

I also rode yesterday, the water temp was about the same,I also had every intention of staying out of the water, then I got the bright idea to check my W/O rpms with my handheld tach, count that mistake #1,to do this I rode the ski with the hood off, mistake #2 and yes I did know better,I did have enough sense to put the tach in a plastic bag and put a zip tie aroud the antenna.About 30 seconds later the laynard came off and since I had the tach in that hand I didn't have it attached to my wrist, mistake #3,laynard was lost and before I could get the ski restarted it nosedived gulped a huge amount of water and sank, mistake #4.Now its bobbing up and down like a cork and I am trying to swim it back to shore using my tach as a paddle, and that makes mistake #5.So about a minute ot so later a boat comes by and tows me in,so most of yesterday was spent drying out the ski and the tach, both work fine now. :grumble::censored::Thinkingof_:
