a backflip off a wake and surf backflip are totally different in style and approach... If you want to get around on a wake flip, you need to approach the wake slowly then right before (you will have to figure the timing out) you hit the launch wake, blip the throttle, so the nose pops up and then drops down... right at the point in wich your nose is fully dipped you should be at the launch wave, sit down, pull back and grab all of the throttle. Then, as you shoot up continue pulling on the bars and remember you will be compressed in a sitting position, so just kick your legs straight out to a standing position and at the same time look back as far as you can to spot the landing... If you do these things at the right time you will get around, no doubt.. It took me a few attempts, but landed one clean...

a surf flip is all confidence and hitting the wave at the right time... all the body english is much less accented...

NOW SPORTING A BIONIC LEG
this guy from WF is the perfect example to learn from if your trying to do them off a wake, because he exagerates the motions so much. The extension (kicking the legs out) that Yamaslut reffered to is what I consider to be the same as a "follow through" in golf or baseball...

1. wear a helmet
2. DONT LET GO

i can't do them, but you HAVE to start there.

i've tried about 3 of them, and i bailed on 1. none hurt me at all, but my ski was hosed after the bail (ski pancaked without me and snapped pole).

watching superrob, you basically just need a helmet for safety, a ski that hits when you want it to, and a slightly reckless personality.
