So far I have:
61x/61x bored .5 mm over, freestyle ported
Ada girdled head with 35 cc domes
Carbon tech reeds
Single 44mm carb
Lightened flywheel
B pipe limited setup with mani and headpipe ported to 49mm.
Cdi with adjustable Rev limiter at approx 7800 rpm
Pump: stock 144 with 9/15 hooker,worx201 stubby cone, and nozzle bored to 84mm.
Currently all in a stock sj hull but will be in a sub 80lb short hull soon.
So far I am very happy with the power delivery all over and I find the hookup to be very good too. That being said, there's always off season mods to save up for..
For power comparison, my ported 701 with a single carb and 61x cases puts out more power everywhere than a stock 61x cylinder 62t cased dual carb setups with all the same mods.
Im planning on spending a max of 500$.
Ive heard good things about solas mags, but I honestly am very satisfied with the power to water delivery of my ski even with a stock intake.. In an am hull with a larger intake is it still that much of an increase?
I have noticed the 62t cases and dual carbs having a little different of a power delivery that I liked compared to my non ported 61x setup I was running last season. I feel like there would be a lot to gain going to dual carbs and different cases.
Talking to my builder, he said he'd suggest 64x dual pulse cases and dual 44s.
Also contemplated switching to 62t electronics if I find a deal and grab an atp hx3. I know I would use that on multiple engine setups in the future which makes it more appealing.
Anybody have experience with either of these three and can steer me in the right way on what to start saving for? I feel like the ignition is where I could see good benefits and it would be a purchase thst would work great as I upgrade engines over the years. Don't plan on going to TL for a few years.
