I would like some tips also. I have the same hood and it seems to take in a lot of water. I just put the watcom hood seal. I also noticed my hood wasn't going all the way forward so I had to ream out my wdk hood hooks deeper. That seems to have made it fit better. I was actually thinking about putting in another hose towards the back because my carbs seem to run out of air while under water.

Silicone works so I have heard. I have some 5200 so I am just going to use that.

Have you noticed that the hoses that it comes with rub into your front cover and actually make deep rub marks?

yes i have the marks lol . im finding that on inverted stabs when the ski is underwater it fills up really quick. i have scupper and bilge but the engine gets choked pretty quick . carbs will be coming out again to get water out (that job is getting old) i run stock airbox aswell

I run the same hood with a new oem seal, brap strap, wdk hood hooks and have no problem with water. sure it gets in there but a little water in the ski is un avoidable.
Only time I choke the motor is when I sub to deep my bilge keeps up pretty good.
And yes I have those freakn marks on my candy painted f wheel cover but it's better then hydro locking due to no hoses.

I am going to add another breather tube because I think im just running out of air. I did a test of going under and not grabbing throttle like I usally do and when I came back up it didn't bog. But then I did it again and did have a handful of throttle and it bogged down for about a minute afterwards. I am running the stock air also. Maybe put a piece of turf in front of the case to stop the marks from getting deeper?

Hey Bro, Make sure your tubes that are in the hood liner are screwed or pushed in all the way to the bottom side of the outer shell of the hood. Water should not flow much down those tube into the hull. If they are all the way up then backe out about 10mm you should get alot less water in the bilge area. Also, there is ONLY ONE GOOD HOOD SEAL FOR SJ and that is STOCK / OEM. Pricey but very worth it. Beleive me, my cheap azz has tried various others to only one avail FAILURE and sometimes catistroffic failure do to cheap azz hood seals.

same experience here...

run your breathers up to the TOP of the hood....

good stock hood seal....

why do you all think its the hood? anyone running scuppers? make sure your bilge is clean of zip ties and washers as they'll tend to get stuck

Are you sure your hood is actually sealing??? I know the hood liner on those hoods are not glassed in very evenly. If you put the hood (without breather tubes) onto a flat table does the hood rock from corner to corner?
