UMI Pole Death Part III

2nd Time I broke this one, 3rd UMI total...not to mention about a dozen stock Kawi poles. I break the UMI's from slamming them down on the hood... OFF TO THE WELDER AGAIN! :grumble:

wow.. that's crazy.. ask the welding shop to do a liquid penetrant inspection.. it will show any more small cracks that could cause future problems..

I have a rubber bumper on the hood allready. They are just weak with downward pressure. If I break it one more time after this time, I will get an X Metal.

I'm thinking with all that welding, you need to do a slow heat up and cool down to relieve some stress around the welds.

have your man fab up a non casted part and attach it ?????????
that way all your dad's polishing won't go to waste

I have two AC poles... both are great. I've heard the UMI poles don't hold up.
