its more the added weight and the sxrs natural instinct for the nose to go down and not leave the water that makes it harder...

....lol

I am wondering if this will bring the nose up... and give it that lighter feel.

If a fat guy rides a superjet, is it still light??

It may make the nose lighter and help a little bit, but its still gona be the same ol heavy arse biotch! If you want a nice freestyle ski out of your SXR get the hull and hood that blowsion sell, it will only set you back about 6k.lol

For the fat guy question..... yes as long as the fat guy knows what he is doiing, he should be able to get the ski out of the water just as easy as the next skinny guy, its the added weight and size of the boat that makes the SXR hard to throw around.

DJ-nice work-I wacked 3 and 1/2 inches off of my stk plate in a straight line left to right and it does make the nose come up much easier-I am probaly gonna do the D cut on my shortend plate to help even more-I gotta spare stk plate in case the shortened one becomes toooo short at -3.5 and a d cut on top of that.

Looks good. Keep us posted! I saw you got another one for .99 cents. Great deal!!!
I cut mine straight at the back of the hull like the SJ is from the factory. It's -2 3/4". I may cut the D later, I'm still getting used to it. I rode the Blowsion carbon fiber one and it is shorter and D cut. It made the nose feel much lighter and the ski handle less in turns.

Very interesting, I made the switch back to my stock plate a while ago and it felt so much more responsive I just can't imagine if I cut it any shorter. and by the way it still Peanut Butter Jelly Time!!!!!

It sits between the pump and the reduction nozzle to point the nozzle down, this pushes the nose of hte sxi pro down. I'm saying put one of those in, but put it in upside down so it points your reduction nozzle up. never tried it, but on my sxi pro taking it out made the noze much lighter and it made the nose bite much less. I use a drop nozzle to compensate so when I want to carve turns, I just grab the drop nozzle, otherwise the nose is lighter because I took the pump wedge out. If you do it, you will need to re-center your steering since you will be adding 1/4" between the hull and hte steering nozzle, just unscrew the ball joint at teh steering nozzle about 1/4" no biggie, just need to remember to do it.

Just ride
I have my ride plate cut even with the back of the SXR. I went to that from a worx ride plate and honestly I don't think it makes that much of a difference for as much as I took off. Compared to the Worx ride plate the cut stock ride plate is probably 5-6inches shorter. The ski just naturally wants to keep the nose down. I have a worx intake grate to, but I dont think it affects anything that much compared to stock because it is only a single toploader. I have an R&D turnplate in the +16mm of throw position, that with the stock cut ride plate i can throw a pretty nice flatwater nose stab and my ski is completely stock besides footholds and a -2 pole. If your gonna try to barrel roll on flatwater with a stock SXR hull your going to need a lot of bottom end to throw it out of the water and some kind of trim system to get the front out of the water enough because its not going to get out of the water with a cut ride plate. I definetly think it can be done though.

You can use a stock 750 sx plate which will be much shorter than the stock sxr plate.
