So if I want to just leave the 750 electronics on it now what needs to be done? anything? I will probably try and swap them out but I want to get it all put back together in time to take it down to the Snake at least once before the trip.

If I were you snacker, keep it simple and run the 750 box, = less work and later you can add the timing advance plate and perhaps a trick ignition box.

Nice I like it. So how do I mount the 750 box? It is a different size/shape than the stock 650 electronics. I plan on swapping them out later and using the 650 electronics.

What do I use to secure it there? I don't want to use anything too permanent because I'd like to plumb the oil tank back in to increase fuel capacity. However I also want it to be secure.

Just strap it down with the tank strap that goes over the oil res. tank.

If you do decide to go with the 650 electrics and drill and tap for the stator, I will measure how deep you can safely drill without going into the cases on the inside. Then its just a timing issue from there on.

Nothing got done to the Snack Machine today:frown: , I spent 14 hrs helping someone install laminate flooring :arms: while my ski sat untouched, unloved a mere 30 yards away.
:bs2:
I plan on installing the bilge pumps and swapping props this week sometime and then finishing the electronics next weekend after the 5200 has cured. I will not be running the 650 electronics for the March Freeride but I'll switch them later in the spring.

Use the 5200 fast cure, not the regular if you can find it. Good choice on the electrical for now, the only wires you will have to get into the ebox will be the start/stop button I think.

Yeah, we are installing bilges tomorrow on the X2 and glassing in footholds on Matt's SJ, then we both have all day Sat. (after a youth wrestling tournament) to finish the X2 Motor swap Turf Matt's SJ and do some port work on Matt's engines. Phill is coming up to Colfax next weekend and we have a tuning ride planned.

I'm not going to do any thing besides the bilges and engine for this ride. Right after we get back I'm going to pull the engine again to:
1) Swap electronics
2) Port the 750
3) Mill the Heads
4) Install Footstraps
5) Reroute the air intake.
