Well here it is all done and hopefully ready for some surf. I hope the turf will hold up! Here is the Blowsion underpadding. 1/4" stuff. I glued the bottom turf in a section at a time. It worked ok, but man was I sweattin' it! That contact adhesive really sticks if you get it in the wrong spot!

I'll let it set up a couple of days and then give the new foot holds a try.:arms:

I got my Wet pipe and Kenny Keepers in last night! I said that I was going to put them in before I rode it with the Wet Wolf cone, to see the difference. Well you already know what is going to happen. I'm going to install the FP and then if I still want to see the difference I can ride my buddies or reinstall the reg pump cone. Does anyone have any suggestions on the wet pipe screw settings for freestyle, "bottom end" performance, or should I just follow the instructions from FP?

Wet pipe screws... mid all the way in. Bottom what FP recommends. For the top 1/2 turn out is total bottom end no top end and 1 1/2 turns out is total top end.

Try em both....

Ps.... ski looks good.

As far as your bilge problem... get a rulemate 750 bilge. It is automatic and doesn't need a switch. I have had mine in my Kawis for 6 years with no probs...and your ski can never ever sink! it has a float switch and spits out any water that comes in... even with a leaky scupper.

Proformance1, could you post what you think about the wet pipe, installation and performance, I'm considering getting one for my 800.

Get one... they rule... if you want top end you can get it, if you want bottom you can get it.

The only downside is that your throttle isn't smooth all the way through.

Brian (Performance1) and I put one in Eric's (Kawaextreme's) SXR... all in all it went pretty easy. A few things that hung us up...

1. we needed to grind some of the glue from the bond line. It's squeezed out into the hull area from the factory and hits the chamber if not ground down. Was not difficult by any means, just a pain.

2. the instructions from FP did not entirely match with the pics that come with them. So make sure to read them very carefully. The pics were from like a '97 SXI.

I rode Eric's both before and after... well worth the buy and install time for sure. Best improvement to that machine for sure. Very noticeable gains from bottom to top.

I definitely will! The only down side that I can guess so far is the extra fuel usage in the SXR, and that you have to use 91 octane. I am going to start putting it in tonight. I was a pretty easy install on Eric's ski. Figure on 4 - 5 hours total. Also an extra pair of hands helps out, as with any project!

Here are some pictures of the start of removal, this took about 1 1/2 -2 hrs to get averything out and trial fit the new pipe.

You will probably have to grind or cut some of the ski's bond glue to get the pipe too fit correctly. So far we have had to do it on 2 SXR's.

The pipe all comes out in one piece, then remove the manifold, and finally clean up the gasket areas.

While I had it apart I figured I'd add the Kenney Keepers for the rear engine mounts. It's alot easier if the exhaust and carbs are out of the way!

The one blowsion make for an SXR can only fit on the rear.

I thought this was a bit odd, but in practice when you hit bottom with an SXR the engine kind of pivots on the front mounts, lifting at the rear, the keepers should stop that.

My mate stabbed his into some sand and the two rear mounts broke and the engine popped up at the rear bending his shaft.

Yeah, the instructions say and show them on the rear, so I called Blowsion on it and they said to install them on the rear. They did not give a reason, but I did not question them on it. Hopefully the'll work!

Yea, I got it done and here is a quick shot of her in the lake. More picts to follow on the install. Everything went pretty good on the install. I set the pipe to FP recomendations top closed, mid closed, and bottom 3/4 turn from closed. It had quite a bit more top end, but I did not notice any bottom end diff. I also noticed that in doing a tail stand that it seemed to load up a bit more than stock. Probably due to the additional fuel going thruogh the carbs and or settings on the pipe at this point. The water was pretty flat that day, and being that I am not that great of a rider, I really cannot comment on the low end yet. I need to dry the pipe out a bit and ride it in the surf. This weekend 1/8 turn closed on the bottom and see if the pipe heats up at all. Once I get the pipe to "sizzle" I'll add 1/2 turn from closed to the top for more bottom end.

It was great to get back out on the stand up though! :arms:

Ok, On the installation of the FP, everything went pretty good except for a few minors that I will briefly mention here. Follow the instructions and think about what is going to go in next and you will be fiine. These were all minor, but I feel are worth mentioning. First was the factory heat sensor that is removed from the exh man. They do not tell you anything about it in the instructions, so you are left trying to figure out what to do with it. Zip tie it up to the wiring to get it out of the way. Next they are now including a water overboard fitting, but it is quite a bit too small for the factory hole that Kawi puts in, so you need to add a washer and some 5200 to seal up the hole. The allen screw adjustments are all easy to get at except this one so make sure to adjust it before putting the pipe in. It took me quite some time to get my hands in there to adjust the bottom screw. The clamp that goes to the water box is very hard to reach, but can be done easily if you set it up correctly. I did not show it here but I did not use their supplied crimp on clamps and it did cause me some problems where I would have to loosen a clamp and slide out out of the way. There are some tight spots around the FP.

The carbs were pretty easy to do, but make sure that you have a good set of screw drivers and you may have to hit the head of the screw driver with a hammer to loosen the screws. Do not strip the screw heads! The pilot jets require a very small flat head screwdriver. You may need to grind one down or find a small one. The specs that FP gave for the carbs all seem perfect at this point. So far it has ran great! The ride plate must be removed in order to get to the water in fitting. The new one has a large diameter inlet. Here she is, all ready for some trial, tuning.

I did turn in the bottom allen screw in 1/8 turn this weekend, it is now 5/8 from closed. It made a huge difference in power. The pipe is still cold, so I am going to set the bottom one at 1/2 from closed and check it again next ride. I hope the power goes up again as much as it did when I closed the pipe the first 1/8!! The foot holds are going to be great, in the 1-2' on Sunday they were already giving me more control of the ski! So far so good.
