Ski owner in Akron Ohio needs help

I know a guy living in Akron Ohio that has a ski and didnt know if anyone on the X could help the guy with his ski. He bought it and only has 12 psi in one cylinder. Trying to save the guy some cash by some local guy look at it instead of him taking it to a stealership.
All he really needs is to find out what he needs to get it fixed. Some dealer wants 400 just to look at it and tell him whats wrong.

Wouldn't he just need a top end kit and some gaskets and 1211?

Can he take the head off and take pics?

mick... call me I can go look at the ski take pictures ect next week... he can either bring it by the shop or I can try and stop down depending on where in akron he is... I won't charge him anything to look at it... cept maybe some gas money if I have to drive to akron to look at it...

Needs at least a motor top end... He needs to learn to start wrenching...tell him to pull out the socket set and rip the head off and take pictures... if the compression is that low the motor HAS to be opened up.

I asked him to pull the head and take pics, not sure if he is doing that. He is new, never wrenched on it and im sure is very hesitent to do so without someone else there at least to point out what he needs to do.

Pulling the head on a GP1200R isn't too hard. I'm rebuilding the carbs on my wife's right now. I'm not local, but I could answer any questions he has. Maybe talk him through it on the phone while I use mine as a reference........... PM if interested.
