Official 2010 Daytona Beach can't go thread

Well, overall it's been a pretty ty year for me. Missed Daytona Beach 2009 because I wasn't able to get the time off from work due to a new software install... lots of OT (being salary that sucked), and no vacation time.

My wife lost her job in May, got a new one in July making less.

Then in August the company decided to let go some 30 of it's higher paid employees (one or two from each department). Being the most senior and highest paid employee in my department... no more job for me.

Sold my backup ski (2001 RN fully modded) and nearly every spare part I have...

So, nearly 6 months of being out of a job, severance has run out, and 120 resumes and only 2 interviews later, I'll be missing yet another Daytona Beach Freeride.

Figures, I have all the time in the world, cash set aside just for the ride, but cannot justify spending it while I am jobless.

I certainly hope 2010 turns out to be a better year.

Sorry to hear that bro! You will be missed there, by all of us. It's not the same when the guy you ride next to and trust to save your a$$ if something goes wrong, isn't there. You always have your head on pivot, and are right there when someone goes big, or something goes wrong.

Frosty....I am pretty sure firemedicmonkey has room for 1 more ski on his Daytona rig. And you could crash with Korn or us for free or sleep outside like a bum like I plan on doing.

I'll cover some gas cash to monkey for you since it will not be much at all for one more ski.

You are KINDA close to me so you would just need to get the ski to my house by Tuesday. I would even meet you half way and swap it on to my trailer and bring it here to give to Monkey Wednesday afternoon/night.

I hate to see anyone miss this year.

Thanks guys, but I can't do that... I have the cash set aside for the trip, and was planning to drive down with my ski in the bed of my truck. Drew and Brian already have the room...

It's just, without a job it wouldn't be prudent right now. I mean, I need to stay here and keep networking and trying to gain employment.

Besides, I could never accept cherity to attend a freeride. I'd rather see donations made to help people who really need it...

But thanks anyway...
