I am I am. Between now and the ride Im going to be out of town labor day weekend, and 2 doctor appointments, and I have to work next weekend. Im not even sure if I will get it done in time.

anyone have the 5/16 padding for the tray?

I orderd her new mounts today along with Kenny Keepers.

Good luck finding padding. When I was buying, HT was out and wasn't sure when they would have any. So, this is what I'm using: http://www.foamforyou.com/neoprene.htm#Neoprene (High quality is what you want). I'll give a verdict on it soon but it seems pretty good so far. This is the same stuff #.0, or whatever, has posted about in the past. Stuff didn't ship until 10 days after my card was charged, wasn't real happy about that.

Who did you go through for the Kenny Keepers?

Well I was going make an order from John at Greater Yamaha.
But after my email to him was unanswered for 3 days I decided to call them and talk to John.
After waiting on the phone for him to find the part # for a sj Motor mount for about 8 mins, then he told me the rear of a SJ did not have a trim piece, after I described it and where it was located I decided this order wasnt going to happen for GY.

I picked up the phone and contacted Brian Drucker at Riva like I have so many times in the past. I told Brian I was going to make an order via email and for him to check his mail in about 10 mins.

Bamn, I get a email from him 10 mins later without tying me up on the phone for ever!! Plus I still get my Racer Discount with them.

I will say it once, I will say it forever. I want my god damn customer service. I dont like talking to parts people that dont seem to know whats going on.

Now, back to moonies ski..

hmmm, I've called John several times and given him the part numbers for what I want.

If they have it in stock - it ships the next day.

Not knocking Riva - but John at GY has been fair to me in my dealings with them.

OK - so what does it matter if Mick ordered from GY or not. He tried, was unsuccessful and was able to get a great deal thru Riva. Case closed, move along, nothing to see here.

And a huge THANK YOU Mick for all your work. It's looking great. The Hooter Scooter is gonna have some more life left in her once you're done. If it gets done by the ride, fine. If not, it's no big deal. At least I know I will have one crazy strong hull.

I think we need to make that bet to see just what I CAN destroy.....:bananajump:

Cover yourself with baby powder BEFORE you start sanding, it helps a lot.

Hmm I was hoping to hear someone say they would come finish it so my arms wouldnt get itchy.

OK I will try that. Actually I think most of the hard part is over. I had to grind a crack out of the rear of the ski from the inside with my die grinder. I have one side of the tray reenforced nice. Tomorrow Im going to do the other side then the inside rear. Sept 18th isnt looking good.

itchey itchey arms, damn fiberglass. Whats the best way to keep the fibers from getting in your skin?

Tyvex suit's are about 3 buck's each it's the only way to go. Take it off when done and throw it away washup with cold water it keep's the skin pour's closed. If you have a bad itching problem because you were not protected like on the forearm's, hand's. take bisquick mix and mix it up and rub it on your arm's it will roll up and pull the strand's of glass out!

I have a few Tyvex suits that I brought home from work. I do wear them when I can but reaching my arm up into the tray with the suit on wasnt an option, It would just snag.

Thanks for the bisquick tip though I will try it.
