I hadn't PLANNED on working on my ski all day today. But that's the boat I'm in now. I have the next two days off of work, and played hookie today to go ride. Lets just say the ski didn't come back in the same shape it went out. First I cracked the nose worse than it was, then later I Compleeeeetly misread a wave, and tried to throw a BF too early. The result was landing flat as a board....on my head. Ross says it was 10+ feet.

The damage tally:
-4 broken motor mounts
-2 shattered couplers
-1 shattered coupler cover
-1 broken electrical box.
-1 broken spark plug
-1 broken water bypass outlet (broke off in the hose)
-2 destroyed bilge pumps
-1 cracked hood
-1 broken chinpad
-1 sunken jetski

On the way getting towed in, my tower ditched me to go get gas. In the confusion, he was gone before I could tell him I was going to sink if he left me sitting.

I think I have all the parts needed to get this thing back together tonight (knock on wood)

I kneeeeeeeeeeeeeewwww this would fcking happen. I thought I had all the parts I needed....everything was going so smoothly. Skip to the part where I put a new coupler on the short shaft.....oh wait, it's a short shaft from a 650. They look the same when the coupler is on....turns out that bastard has smaller diameter threads. I want to kill Yamaha right now. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

That's a lot of damage. I often wondered how much stress I was putting on my motor mounts when I landed upside down. I've been lucky and never broke any mounts just caved in the top of my ACracing pole.
Good luck getting it back together.

It's official....the short shaft is THE hardest part to find. The O'side crew has scooped up all the intermediate shafts in the local area and destroyed them. No one has any left.

I need a shaft....or a 650 coupler. Either will do at this point. I have a good 650 SJ housing....and a good 650 SJ shaft, but not couplers that will fit.

650 coupler? As in the part that screws onto the short shaft? I may be able to help . . . Do you know the ID of the coupler you need?
