Super Jet Need some Reccomendations on wetsuits.

Like it says i am looking into getting a wetsuit so my riding time can extend a little longer into fall. I live in the south so we really dont have a "Winter", and im not looking to ride year round, just a little longer as it begins to cool off. Just something that will help keep me comfortable in the periods of time when im not in the water, or if its chilly out, wind, etc. Im not looking to ride in the dead of winter. I perused the internet the other day and realized there is WAY more to wetsuits then i knew about. Densities, thickness, material brand etc. I dont want to spend a fortune, but want a decent wetsuit thats not just going to fall apart. Anyone have any recommendations on brands, material, thickness (MM etc?) Anyone in the south and use them in the fall/spring to stay in the season longer, and enter it earlier? Any help is appreciated guys!

I would recommend going with a surfing wetsuit. They are specifically made to be super flexible and still retain maximum warmth so they are ideal for any type of action sport. A 3/2mm thickness was designed for water temps between 55-70 degrees.

I personally prefer Oniell wetsuits. I've tried them all and they are the best quality, However they are one of the more expensive brands. I'll pay the difference though because if you're cold your not having fun.

There are less expensive suits available so any reputable Surf Suit Company should be good. They can be purchased On line if you don't happen to live near the beach. On thing to remember about wetsuits, like everything else, you get what you pay for

Yes, and I'm def one to live by the get what you pay for, and better to spend extra time doing it right then finding time to do it again etc. I'd assume the 2/3 should be sufficient, I'd assume the water here in GA prob doesn't get much below 55 deg.

Also, as far as sizing I'm about 5'9-5'10 185-190 any size recommendatios. I'd assume they fit small?

Tailored towards surfing is what he means but it will work just fine for jet skiing

Try to get a 2/3 mm semi-dry suit. Nice and warm and super-flexible! Spend as much $ as you can afford, the suit needs to be snug. I'd try to find a place that stocks the size(s) you need and try them on. Correct sizing is crucial!
I've had good luck with NPX and Ripcurl brands. Target the suits intended for surfing.

Man what a upsetting size, extra large short lol...thanks guys ill check those out. I like my jetpilot vest, anyone have experience with their suits? I've heard good things about their "A-Tron" line. Not terribly expensive and seems to be a fairly dry/quality sealed suit

BUT get a 2 piece. 1 piece restricts your movement and pumps up your forearms. I wear the bottom 'john' 75% of the time. No top. Except early spring or late fall. Then both. Just my preference

I have a jet piolot suit that I love. Had it for three plus seasons. A buddy bought a $100 suit from sports authority and he seems to like it. and he used a 20% off coupon on top of that.

I have been really lucky on my last 2 suits over 6 years....I wait for a 80.00 4/3 to pop up on whiskeymilitia.com and grab it... this last one is great and 88 shipped! The only prob is you gotta watch and they go quick....

4/3 overkill for your area. Try a thinner suit, but also get a thin hood to wear under helmet and thin wetsuit socks for your shoes. Then you can adjust your gear to conditions.

I like the idea of a two piece suit, seems it could be versatile.

Ill have to check out the sports authority suits, never thought of looking there. Seems it could be functional for what I need as cold water isn't very common here in GA. And I'll check that website out as well thanks for the heads up!
