I know that there is a post out there somewhere about modifying a stock waterbox. I have looked for it and I can not find it. Is it here or on PWC? Anyone know? A link would be great--yeah I'm lazy. Of if you know who's thread it was. Any help?
simple mod. i used a 1/2" drill bit or the outer divider making the small single into 3 1/2" holes. then used a small 14" long 3/16" to perforate the rear divider
doing the perforations will allow for more flow volume but still have a baffling effect for the sound. the second divider looks like a fine piece of swiss cheese
I just got a really long 1/2" bit @ home depot for $11, and drilled 4 holes through both baffles through the OUTLET hole of the waterbox. Waterbox seems to flow good with the 701 motor and its just barely louder than stock. I'm sure there is some performance lost, but I'd bet its minimal.... and not having an annoyingly loud ski is an fair trade off.

i thought i had seen someone here a few years back cut one in half and gut the insides then weld it back up .. how much improvement or set back on a 701 would you expect to see, I would assume the ski would be a ton louder
The PJS box on my SX conversion is as loud as I would want to go as it is I am thinking of modding the stock box and getting the newer style prebent hoses for it.
