Lawn-Dart Carnage

I thought I was in plenty of water. I guess not.
Got some glass work to do on the nose.
Broke 3 motor mounts.
Shattered the coupler.
Broke the pole bracket.
The pump shaft won't spin. (it looks like the mid shaft moved forward)
I hope that's all. Haven't gone thru it completely yet.
Will post pics later today.

Could have been worse. The limiting rope did it's job.

like I said, It could have been worse. No injury to me, just the ski.
The mid-shaft thing has me a little worried.
Since I have to replace the pole bracket, I guess I'll finally shorten the pole as well.

Lets see some pics! Mine was so bad you could EASILY look in the front and see the waterbox! It looked like a large mouth bass.

Matt- no pain. I didn't get hurt at all. I'm at work right now, can't post pics til I get home. The glass damage is not really that bad. (no "thru holes") just crackage.

Jump- I guess it was 4-5 feet deep. I went over the pole when it hit. Probably would have broke it off without the limiting rope.

Oh yea, I totally ripped apart a good set of board shorts in the process!

At the last second you know when you are going to hit the bottom especially when you are going straight down...it is not a good feeling knowing you are going to fly over the bars...this is a be careful lesson for many of us...

Dan I got your voicemail, I was out in the boat.... That surf was great in the morning, but it wasn't very deep. I did a BF in that morning session & it was maybe 4ft with a hard bottom. That first stab you did was nice & big.

Me & Frank went for a burn after you left. The waves were still nice.
He towed me in with his x2. That thing is not the greatest towing ski, but I'm glad it was there!

It sucks that had to happen, you just got your ski all set up & ready to ride...

I hit that sand bar hard like that when I tried my first BF in the surf. No damage to the hull (Superfreak strong), but I broke couplers, midshaft was bent, bedplate broke... Bad part was I had no tow ring, so Idok had to pull me in backwards which filled the motor up with water..... Sucked, Sucked, Sucked..

I haven't lawn-darted yet, but I am afraid of the day it will happen.

Actually, I nose-stabbed into a rocky riverbed before, but that was off my own wake.
